ROARING HEIGHTS REVIEW

Hey guys!

I hope you are all fine! Today I'm here to review the awesome world released an the Store on 12th December, 2013. We finally got a city world! Well, It's not a "city" actually. I may call it an Art Decor theme world. This world is surrounded by gorgeous skyscrapers and to say the truth, the skyscrapers are very well designed and have I mentioned that there are apartments?! Yep, there are apartments! Please note that I might be using a lot of exclamation marks on this review haha. I hope you enjoy the rest of my review!

I'm dividing this review into 7 parts. It would be easier for you to read.

The World + Information
Rabbitholes
Premium Content
The Boardwalk Venue and Rollercoasters (YAY!)
Create-A-Sim Assets
Buy/Build Mode Assets
Overall Thoughts
So, this is my second world review and I'm SOOO excited to review this world. You can already see that from my excessive use of exclamation marks. I was amazed by all the good feedback I've got on Twitter about my first world review, Midnight Hollow. I hope you guys enjoy this review!

WORLD

If I'm not wrong, the inspiration of Roaring Heights might have come from Miami and New York City. Roaring Heights reminded me of Miami instantly! This world has the 1920's and 1930's feel. It looks a bit similar to Bridgeport but not that much actually. Bridgeport is a city but in Roaring Heights there are many things to do. Your Sim can live in the downtown, by the beach or just live in a luxurious apartment. Please note that the apartments don't work like the apartments of Bridgeport. There is one thing you can do to dazzle up your apartment - add an elevator if you have LN. Here's the description of Roaring Heights:

"Welcome to a city where bold shapes, rich colours and lavish looks rule the skyline! The residents of Roaring Heights are living in the fast lane in this booming place filled with skyscrapers and bustling beaches. Whether you're content to hang out on the piers, work your way to the top, or host glamorous parties at home, there's a place for every lifestyle in Roaring Heights. With endless opportunities at your front door, which new life will you choose in Roaring Heights?"

I love the person who made the description. I find the description of every world interesting!

In Roaring Heights, your Sim can enjoy the beautiful, sparkling beach and the gorgeous view of the skyscrapers or just live somewhere far away! It's your choice. Bridgeport was only about partying but in Roaring Heights, your Sim can enjoy many possibilities so the advantages are great!! I can describe this world in three words- retro, vintage and elegant or awesome, awesome and AWESOME-ER! The Store added so much content in Roaring Heights that it's bursting with awesomeness!

The world comes with 105 Buy/Build Mode objects and 28 CAS assets so total there are 133 objects! It is sold via SimPoint bundle. The Standard edition includes the world + 100 Simpoints and the price is $20. The Gold edition icludes the world + 1900 SimPoints + Boardwalk Attire and the price of it is $35. If you want some extra SimPoints, get the Gold version but if you have enough SimPoints then buying the Standard version would be fine.

Alright, I need to make this review shine a bit ;-) Here are some screenshots of Roaring Heights:

RABBITHOLES

The rabbitholes of Roaring Heights are the best! This is my favorite part of Roaring Heights actually. They are so beautifully designed and looks the best at night. My favorite is the City Hall and the graveyard. I love how they brighten the whole world. Graveyards are usually dark and gloomy but wait till you see this one. Here are the screenshots:

See? It is surrounded by beautiful flowers and doesn't looks like a graveyard

PREMIUM CONTENT

Roaring Heights include a new premium content call the Classically Cool Fixer-upper Car. I've waited for this a long time! Remember when your Sims could open doors in The Sims 2? Yep! It's finally back. However, this won't be possible in other cars. Your Sim have t work on the car in order to make it work. it is a scrap car the first time you place it but after some work, you can get this monster roaring like a lion! The first time you use this car, you'll get five options. They are given below:

After the work is done, you'll get some more options like this:

The Turn on Radio option is normal, it plays music like a stereo and you can change the channels. the differences between the radio and stereo is that in stereo you can skip to the next song and change the volume but in a radio you can't do that.
The Rev Engine option is pretty simple too. It has your Sim turn on the engine and hope for it to work

Work on Car Body improve the looks of the car and improves your Sim's handiness skill.

Work on Car Engine improves the engine of the car so that it can work properly and it also improves your Sim's handiness skill. It may take a long time to do this.

The dance interaction looks like this, you know how it is but I'm still showing:

After your Sim has worked on the car, Wax interaction will be unlocked and you can change it to any colour you want!

Here's an interesting thing: While John was dancing (My Sim) a meteor fell over him and the University mascot was walking around happily as if he doesn't even care that my Sim died!

WooHoo interaction looks like this (of course.) WooHooing in the car is finally back.

I'm not showing the other interaction. You can see in yourself ;-)

MOODLETS

There are some new moodlets included with this premium content. Here are they:

Unreliable Engine - When the engine doesn't work properly.

Purrs Like a Lion- When the engine is working properly and there's no dysfunction.

Second gear - This moodlet will be unlocked when your Sims are cuddling in the car.

Starry-eyed - When your Sim is star gazing in the car.

Fifth Gear- This moodlet will be unlocked when your Sims WooHoo in the car.

I love all the features of this premium content. I'm glad that they added the romantic interactions and the car door can be finally opened. Another thing I found awesome is that you Sim can turn on the radio and go anywhere they please. I wish the other vehicles worked like this! Hopefully in the future! This premium content goes very well with this world.

The Boardwalk Venue and Rollercoasters

I always wanted an amusement park theme venue in The Sims 3. I'm glad that the Store finally made this venue! Also there are rollercoasters and it's a great content added to the world. Players can now make their own rollercoasters! I can't wait to see how simmers make their own rollercoasters. Keep in mind that it is a boardwalk and not an amusement park but you can also create your own amusement park if you desire! I love the colour combination of this venue, the blue and off-white colour of the rollercoaster goes very nice! It just reminds me of cream, I don't know why.. This is a 64 x 64 lot. There are not only rollercoasters; there is a cafe and an arcade too. I'm pretty sure the roller coaster took a LOT of work and it is done beautifully! Here are some screenshots to show you how it looks:

ROLLERCOASTERS
Included with the Boardwalk Venue is the Sky High Rollercoaster Cart and Rollercoaster Track pieces. this rollercoaster is not sold individually and If you want something different in your game, this is a must! This rollercoaster is not a single content, there are tracks and you can do so much with them! You can create your very own rollercoasters. Here are the pieces:

I'm glad we got the rollercoaster! We also got rollercoaster in The Sims 1 but this one is more enjoyable. There are 22 track pieces. The coaster comes in three themes- 1) Horror 2) Thriller 3) Wonder. Each of the theme gives your Sims different moodlets and reactions.
The first one is Horrow, the second one is Wonder and the third one is Thriller.

See the differences? Cool huh?! Please note that I won\t be providing a tutorial to create a rollercoaster but awesome SimGuruCopeland published a blog about it a few days ago.I hope you understand! http://www.thesims3.com/community/blog.html?blogid=530628

*You can skip the pictures if you want. There's A LOT

BUY/BUILD MODE OBJECTS INCLUDED WITH THE BOARDWALK VENUE

CAS ASSETS

I'm impressed by seeing the hairs this time. I love the female hairstyle they added, reminds me of the 20's when women used to wear the flapper dress, they had this kind of hairstyle! By the way, the hairs for male are "okay" in my opinion (really wished they added more.) The outfits for female Sims are beyond amazing, they are very different and matches very nicely with the world. I have no complaints for the female CAS assets!! They are so well designed. The fact that they added the dress with the bow for elders just made me happy, elders get left out sometimes!

BUY/BUILD MODE OBJECTS

"Reall not please with the Buy/Build mode objects." Yep that's me almost every time but not this time! I love the lamps and ceiling light that comes with this world. Also, the curtains are my favorite! I think I'm going to use them in my game a lot. The wall paintings look so vintag-y and retro which is good because I love these types of paintings. I love the tree with pink flowers that they included in this world, I really wanted more trees with different colours! I love the neon light tubes, there are so many things you do with them, like adding them at bars, clubs or any other places!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Roaring Heights is totally worth the money. This world is different than any other Store world. Your Sim can live in the downtown or by the beach. You can also use the skyscrapers from Late Night and turn this world into a sparkling city that never sleeps! I'm thinking of doing this, it would look truly wonderful because the skyscrapers of Late Night has a strong lighting effect which I observed. The retro, vintage, art decor, glitz and glam transformed the world into pure awesomeness. This isn't a boring world at all! The new premium content, the car goes well with Roaring Heights but it takes so long to fix the car. Other than that, I love the features added to it. I always have some complaints for the Buy/Build Mode items but this time I don't have any! I was stoked to see these amazing items, especially the new well decor, neon light tubes and the skylight!! The CAS assets are okay I guess. I liked the female hairs and outfits but some of the male outfits didn't please me. Score- 9.5/10
I've been waiting for a city world with skyscrapers for SOOO long! Seeing that Roaring Heights is a mix of Art Decor and city it just makes me happy!  Thank you the Store team for making this world!

  1. The text you provided doesn't have any direct connection or relevance to the "it was all a dream neon sign
" keyword. However, if you were looking for a comment on how a neon sign like this could fit into the Art Deco theme world you mentioned, it really depends on the overall style and aesthetic of the world. A "it was all a dream" neon sign could serve as a playful and whimsical addition to the decor of an apartment or other space within the world. The use of neon signs in an Art Deco theme world could help create a nostalgic and retro atmosphere, as neon signs were popular in that era. Overall, a "it was all a dream" neon sign could be a fun and interesting addition to the world, depending on how it's incorporated and the overall design vision.
