Hello everyone!
I smell bread, cupcakes and a little bit of pies! *sniffs*
Yes! A new set released on The Sims 3 Store on Thursday and it's a BAKERY! The Store is just getting better and better and I love it! Hope you enjoy the rest of my review:
As we know, a new set releases on the Thursday in the first week of a month. The set is not on discount right now and the price is 1,900 SimPoints. It also included two fabulous premium content and comes with 14 Build and Buy mode objects. No CAS assets are included. A lot of decor objects are also included. The lot is absolutely gorgeous. I admire the person who worked on building and decorating it. The Deliciously Indulgent Bakery is a 30x30 lot and will appear as a "Hangout" lot in your game. The lot has a beautiful fountain outside and has the classical look of old times. This lot is beyond words! I like the outside look of the lot. I think this is how the bakeries were in those times!
There's a nice area on the back of the bakery and three buildings. There's a special thing you can do with this venue. YES YOU CAN LIVE IN A BAKERY I MEAN HOW COOL IS THAT?! (Sorry for the caps.) You can set it as a residential lot and start living there haha. Or.... you can transform it to a restaurant using the Business As Usual Bistro and a bakery on the other side? Perfect area for some desserts after dinner! (Yum!) Here are some screenshots I took of the venue:
PREMIUM CONTENT: BAKER'S BAZAAR COLLECTION
This is a premium content that comes with this set and not for sale individually. While this look similar to Savvy Seller's Collection, there are some differences: First of all, you can sell only recipes you create and the other thing I spotted earlier is that you won't get the message telling you that the cashier can't make it to work like the Savvy Seller. Another thing I like the most about the refrigerator is that it can prevent food from spoiling and keeps them refrigerated, you can't sell any things from Buy /Build mode and the refrigerator needs restocking. These are all the differences I noticed.
It's just like the Savvy Seller. You can create the markup with the sale price. Another thing I found disappointing is that if you want to restock, your Sim have to put it in the fridge, place it in the inventory and then place it in the displays. If you want to make profit, you have to own the whole lot.
Here are the objects that come with this content: 1) Delightful Dessert Display 2) Rustic Bakery Rack 3) Baker's Sales Rugs 4) Sweet Nothing Simoleon Register. Here are all the things: (all arranged in order)
PREMIUM CONTENT: BAKER'S STATION
Yep! This is another premium content included with this set. It is currently not on sale individually. First of all, TONS of food recipes comes with this oven. If you don't want to bake, type testingcheatsenabled true and Shift+Click the oven and choose the option, It starts with DEBUG or something and there will be a list of all the recipes to bake. If yu own Bohemian Fruits and Nuts, Wood Fire Oven, Humble Harvest Stands, The Sims 3 Late Night, The Sims 3 World Adventures and Showtime, you will be able to bake a lot of goodies. Keep in mind that some of them require higher or lower cooking skill.
Here are the pictures of the recipes:
Cookies
Deep Dish Cobbler
Pies
Bread
Cakes
Hope it wasn't so messy haha. I accidentally put all the food in this room haha! I would totally live there :P

Some new animations are included such as frosting, tasting and rolling. When the Gurus first posted a sneak peek of the cakes and other recipies, I was excited about the cakes and kept wondering if we could choose the shape and design it in any way we like! I would have preferred changing the colour of the cake. After baking you'll get a new moodlet as shown here :
This lasts for 4 hours.
Kinda disappointing that we can't change the colour or the size or shape of the cake but what excites me is that finally a new cake for birthdays and weddings. I'm really tired of that Inferno Cake!!
BUILD/BUY MODE OBJECTS
No, no KPST themed stuff are included!! Most of the objects are used for decoration and you can buy the cake from buy mode. I love those little decorations but would've loved if they included some different items for building bakeries! Yes, I like the windows with the writing on it. But I would've preferred some new lighting with both modern and old town look for decorating bakeries and chairs and an old town inspired table for eating.
Here are all the Buy/Build mode objects:
OVERALL REVIEW
I love how the venue is decorated. The size of the lot is neither too big or small and you can easily place it in any world. As I had mentioned, the lot is good enough to be transformed in to a restaurant or any other shops. As for the price, a discount would have been great. I know the premium content includes a lot of recipies and some little bit of features, but a small discount would have been nice too. I am fully impressed by the Baker's Station. The fact that you can use the wood fire oven, bohemian fruits and nuts, EPs to unlock the recipies just made me very happy that I bought this set. This one focuses on baked food such as cupcakes, (yum!) cakes, pies, bread etc! I like the Buy/Build mode objects but some other things would have been nice such as door, arches, some flowers, arches, lighting, tables and chairs would have been nice too. Of course we got A LOT from other sets but it doesn't hurt adding a new one with a bakery look, right? I love this set, it seems like a lot of work went on the premium content and the venue. The Buy/Build mode objects are lovely but most of them are for decor. Have you always wanted baked goods for your game? Have you played with bakeries in The Sims 2 and want them back in The Sims 3? Do you like new recipies to be included? Do you enjoy building shops? Here are couple of questions to let you decide. As you've read my review, think about the questions and gather some information from my review. This will let you decide. So the score is- 7/10
Here's a little thing I want to say: whenever I do a review. I take screenshots experience a lot of crazy things in my game. So yeah I want to share this :P Thanks SimGuruRusskii for the "bloopers" idea!
